Easter Weekend

What a fun weekend! On Friday Scott and I took the girls to the Baby Animal Day at the American West Heritage Center. They had fun petting the animals, going on treasure hunts and riding the ponies. If there was a chance for candy or goodies of any sort my girls were all over it. The funniest thing was when we went into one of their antique show houses and Halli asked where the homemade cookies were and when they said they weren't doing it that time, she turned around and walked out. Scott and I laughed so hard that if there were no cookies she wasn't interested at all! Oh a small side note before you start wondering what in the world is up with Syd's hair...yes...she gave herself a hair cut.
Today, the girls and I went and found some fun places here in town to take some photos...we had so much fun...Halli actually took a good handful of some of them and did a really nice job. One more side note...yes Halli has lost both her two front teeth and we think she looks super cute!!

Should I even try to catch up???

Since Christmas the time has been flying by and I don't know where to start. I'm grateful for the sunshine we had today and hope it plans to stick around for a while. My girls are growing in leaps and bounds and right out of their clothes...literally. Halli has learned to ride her two wheeler with no training wheels and thinks she's going to ride across the United States. I met her at her elementary school with her bike and let her ride home...it was her proudest moment. Something else fun was recently Scott and I took his 1928 Roadster pick-up (which he re-built from scratch) down to the Expo Center for the 09' Autorama which he was super excited to get best in his class. Last week my family got together and we did an Easter run through and seriously trying to get all the kids to smile and look at the camera all at once was just an uphill battle. I guess if anything it made for some unforgetable memories.

We Love Christmas!

Being able to spend time with family is the best way to spend Christmas. We didn't get to spend nearly as much time with family but what we did was perfect. Chaos everywhere and all the kids really having the time of their lives. Grandma made nightgowns for all the girls and it was the same pattern she used when I was Halli's age and had a nightgown just the same! I'm sure each of the kids got all they had hoped for and more. I have to admit my favorite part of this Christmas season was when Halli and Syd got to pick out their gifts for one another. We went to Hobby Lobby and each of the girls went down seperate isles and then hid their gifts behind their backs so the other couldn't see. Halli picked a sparkly, pink sun visor and Dora coloring book for Syd because she is a lover of sparkly, pink and of course Dora! Syd picked out a box that she painted to look like a watermelon and cut a hole in the top to be her new piggy bank. Halli has been trying to do everything she can to earn money and her first piggy bank was full and no more would fit...Syd wanted to make sure that she would have enough room to save all the money she wanted to. I am blessed to have the most loving, and thoughtful girls. I am also blessed to have a great family who have a love and support for me that is never ending.

Time for a little catching up...

Early in December Halli had her Kindergarten program...it was everything you could imagine it would be. Each child has their own personality and they were not about to hide any of that under a bushel. It was pretty much the most entertaining 15 minutes I have had in I don't know how long.

Lucky Halli also happens to have her birthday in December, it lands just three days before Christmas. She turned 6 and was very proud of that...she's not the only one, I'm just as proud. She is my biggest helper and so smart and I'm sure I rely on her far more like she is 16 and not just 6. For her birthday we had a fun lunch at Jason's Deli with family and then that night me, Halli and Syd went and stayed at a hotel downtown and had a girls night out. It was a lot of fun riding TRAX to see the lights, going to see Bedtime Stories, and playing in the hotel pool/hot tub. We really did have so much fun!

Happy Birthday to my baby...who's now 4!

On November 9th Syd had her 4th birthday!! She told me yesterday that even though she had 3 parties, she is still just 4...whew. It's really weird when your baby is 4 years old and not a baby at all, though she keeps telling me she does NOT want to get big. I know she'll kill me when she gets older and sees that I've put this in here but it was too funny not to share. Lately she has been figuring out body parts and which of those are best kept covered up...so along with this I'm not going to get big, I'm just going to stay little came the statement and I'm certainly not going to wear a bra. I asked her how she planned to keep herself covered and she said, um it's not like I won't be wearing a shirt! I lauged so hard and all I could tell her was that she's lucky and will have a few years to think about it. Yey for four year old questions huh??!!!
For her birthday I made her a caterpillar cake and it turned out pretty cute. I robbed from their Halloween candy which can I just say I have weird kids? They loved getting the candy but haven't touched it since! I've eaten far more of their candy then they have. Anyhow, I decorated it with their candy and some googly eyes I pulled off some other art project that had seen it's day. With some help I also made a ballerina wall which I was going to post a photo of until I realized that you can see all my drying laundry in the reflection of the mirrors...so picture this, four door mirrors with a wooden rail going across them all, it turned out very fun. She also got all sorts of fun presents from family and it's made her the happiest kid ever!

Happy Halloween...a little late.

I know this is coming a little late but as crazy as the last couple of weeks have been, I thought the girls looked so cute in their costumes that I thought I'd still let everyone see.

Halli was Gabriella from High School Musical and Syd was

Alexa from Barbie and the Diamond Castle.

Happy Birthday to Bry!

The 24th was Bry's birthday...I promised him I wouldn't mention how old he was...somewhere between 31 and 33, you know...there abouts. We all met at Stoneground for dinner and then went to WiseGuys to laugh for a bit. Just because I don't really tell him enough, I thought I'd take a moment now to let him know how much I love him. He has a contageous laugh and the biggest heart I know. He is a hard worker and a great dad...I really hope he knows that. Very few people give so much of themselves and ask for nothing in return and he is one of them. Love you Bry!
